The unintended expat blogger behind Mellow Field Ring

Hi there, I’m Liam
I work as a project manager. a parent. An expatriate residing in Toronto, Canada.
Several years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Canada wasn't in the master plan. Like many expatriate relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more substantial.
The initial months were tough — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and shifting expectations. Daily tasks seemed more challenging than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet over time, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt secure.
Why I Built Mellow Field Ring
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Canada.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Canada
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated when something truly changes
This site isn't:
- A resource from a tourism authority
- Paid-review platform
- An ordinary travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Canada continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Best regards,
Liam
